Arthur Miller’s classic witch-hunt masterpiece, both literal with its 17th-century Salem setting and with the wider allegorical commentary on the McCarthyism and ‘un-American Activities’ movement of the 1950s. Widely recognised as one of the best plays of the 20th century and recently called ‘the perfect play for our post-truth times’.
